Tom Darbyshire, Partner Litigation & Insolvency

Tom has nearly 30 years’ experience in commercial litigation in Western Australia, and has appeared as counsel in all State and Federal Courts, with the exception of the High Court. Tom has acted in a wide variety of matters, with an emphasis on bankruptcy, corporate turnaround and insolvency, trust disputes, property disputes and consumer protection.

Tom also advises clients on governance and compliance issues, including Privacy Act and data protection, public and private sector whistleblower protection, and director’s duties.

Tom also has extensive experience in legal management, having been the head of the Commercial Dispute Resolution team of Kott Gunning, a well known mid-tier Perth law firm, from 2005 to 2020, in addition to serving two terms as managing partner.

Tom is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, and a professional member of the Australian Reconstruction Insolvency and Turnaround Association (ARITA).
